The Stables - Mottram St. Andrew

The Stables is a unique and sensitive restoration project involving the conversion of a Grade II listed stables building, originally dating back over 300 years. Set within stunning countryside surroundings, this project aims to preserve the building’s historic character while transforming it into a luxurious, contemporary family home.

The development will deliver a substantial five-bedroom, five-bathroom property, centred around a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and living area designed for modern living. The ground floor layout will also include a dedicated home gym, cinema room, utility space, and an impressive open entrance hallway, complete with a statement staircase and tiled flooring.

A key feature of the project is the careful integration of traditional and new structural elements. New exposed oak trusses are being introduced, while selected existing oak trusses and beams are being retained and restored, ensuring the property’s heritage is both respected and celebrated throughout the design.

Externally, the property will benefit from a newly formed driveway and fully landscaped gardens, set within an extensive orchard, enhancing the natural beauty and setting of the site.

As an ongoing project, The Stables will continue to evolve, with further updates to follow as works progress.

This project highlights our expertise in managing complex listed building conversions, combining craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a deep respect for historic architecture to create a truly distinctive home.
